Product description
Canvas is a very sturdy, stiff plain-weave fabric with a rough texture. It is a great material for mocking up new corset patterns or as an inexpensive interlining for coutil fabric to add strength to a corset. You can also use canvas fabric for upholstery. Some other ideas:
- Use as an interlining for shoppers and shoulder bags
- Make a casual bag or backpack
- Decorate your interior in rustic style
- Use as a tarp for a historical look (not waterproof, however)
- Use as an interlining to give garments shape (add starch for stiff-as-a-board support)
This canvas fabric is woven of pure cotton. It is washable – just remember that it will shrink slightly with each laundering and will loosen up again with each wearing (just like a pair of jeans).
Care
Wash at 30°C. Do not machine dry; air dry. Iron on the cotton setting. When using canvas as an interlining for a more delicate material (such as corset satin) follow care instructions for that material.
