Fusible web is a non-woven textile that can be used to fuse two layers of any fabric combination. Its excellent adhesive qualities guarantee a perfect hold and even application without bubbles.
Combine fusible web with the plain cotton weave of your choice to achieve a fusible interlining that can be ironed in place. Choose fabric of any weight and color for your interlining. Simply place the fusible web between your lining fabric and your face fabric (such as satin, dupioni, brocade or anything else) and apply. The result is a sturdy, stiffened material that is easy to work with, holds its shape, and stands up to wear. Great for sewing corsets, making clutches and other accessories, and for sewing garments and home decor items. A strip of fusible web makes hemming a skirt, shortening trousers, or adjusting curtains easier too.
Use
Both layers must be pressed at the same time. Place the webbing between the two layers of fabric that you want to fuse and iron from the side that better withstands heat (for example, if fusing silk to cotton, iron from the cotton side). Do not run the iron back and forth over the fabric; press in one place for several seconds and then move on until done.
Generally, pre-shrinking is needed for linen, cotton, and rayon, but for finer fabrics (light rayon, Tencel and modal) proceed with care – don't use hot water or a hot iron, simply launder the fabric the way you will be laundering the completed garment.
