Product description

Product description

This jersey knit made of linen cotton blend is brushed on the back. It is not as fuzzy as sweatshirt fabric, a bit more like flannel. It has a fuller hand than pure linen jerseys.

The fabric has an interesting “patchy clouds” structure, a product of its irregular thread thickness. It has a soft, gentle hand. Even those with sensitive skin will find that it does not scratch like some other linens do.

The linen in this jersey makes it cooler than pure cotton, it is breathable and quick-drying.

Application

This jersey looks great in

  • t-shirts
  • tank tops
  • tunics
  • simple form-fitting and loose dresses
  • sporty t-shirt dresses
  • comfy leisurewear
  • nightshirts

Tips

When sewing with jersey, be sure to place and cut your pattern carefully to help your garment maintain its shape. Ever bought a linen tee that started to twist after a few washes? A good homemade t-shirt that’s been carefully cut will never let you down like that.

This fabric will shrink and should be washed before cutting. To keep dyed linens from fading, do not dry in direct sunlight.

Care

Wash dyed jersey at 40°C, white and natural shades at 60°C. Iron on high. Can be steam pressed. Can be machine dried; we recommend a gentle cycle.
