Linen gauze is a sheer, ultralight linen fabric in a loose weave. It resembles cotton organdy, except that organdy is starched in production, which makes it stiff, while this linen gauze is wonderfully soft (if you’ve always thought linen was scratchy, you’re in for a surprise).
While linen gauze is too sheer for most ordinary garments, it is absolutely on-point for layered dresses and tunics or floaty summer scarves. It’s also useful for lining historical costumes and making historical undergarments (shifts etc.). This lightweight fabric makes lovely, sheer linen curtains and is great for eco-friendly fruit and veggie bags too.

Note, due to its loose weave this fabric will shrink; always pre-wash it before use.
Wash dyed linens at 40°C; white and natural linens can be laundered at 60°C. Because of this fabric’s loose weave, use the lowest spin cycle and do not machine dry; gentle handling will prolong your fabric’s lifespan. Iron on the highest setting; may also be steamed.
