Shot linen jersey is knit from multicolored thread of varying thickness, resulting in an interesting structure and color pattern. This fabric is smooth and soft, almost like cotton, with none of the scratchiness of rough linen weaves.
This grey jersey is quite fine, even sheer in places, making it a natural for layered styles. Try it in a top or tunic to wear with a matching – or contrasting – tank underneath. Or make it into a light, ruched cardigan or an oversized scarf for summer evenings. You can line it with a nude jersey for a modest hint of sheerness. This fabric drapes nicely, so it’s great for ruched and gathered patterns.
This jersey breathes well. It’s cool and, like all linens, conducts moisture away from the body, making it perfect for hot summer days.
We recommend pre-shrinking this fabric before sewing.
Wash at 40°C. Due to its loose knit, we recommend a lower spin setting. Lay flat to dry to prevent stretching. Iron on the highest setting; may also be steamed.
